Trip to Penang, Ipoh and KK

After BTN we embarked upon a wonderful and extremely fun vacation. By ‘we’ I mean me and my friends of course. It was an experience of a lifetime. The details might be sketchy but I might upload some pictures later.

First we went to Penang. The guys lived at KJ’s place while the girls went to Phyllis’. We visited some of the historical heritage sites like Khoo Kongsi and went on a walking trip around the old part of Georgetown. Went to Kek Lok Si Temple too. Visited Queensbay Mall (not bad) but did not have time to go Batu Ferringhi. Oh, the most memorable part of Penang would be the food. Simply a heaven of local gastronomical delights to tantalise one’s taste buds. I ate a lot of stuff there.

We stayed for 3 days at Penang and then went to Ipoh by bus. Adeline was our kind host and we visited some cave temples (marvelous) and also went to her father’s goat farm the next morning (highly interesting. Helped around a bit). We stayed in Ipoh for 1 day only.

After that, everybody went back to their hometown while I stayed in KL for 5 days with my sister. On 29th June we gathered at LCCT, this time a different group of friends and off we flew to KK.

First day at KK, went to Kinabalu Park and walked around. Cold but truly breathtaking. Did not get the chance to climb Mt. Kinabalu but 2 of our group did. I do not think I can survive up there anyway. On second day, went to Tunku Abdul Rahman marine park. Had the most fun here, snorkelled and swam and parasailed. Parasailing!! It was my first time, really fun and exciting I must say. Yet the snorkelling part was a bit disappointing, we were expecting highly colourful underwater marine life like those we always see in posters and such. Imagine that, but without any of almost all of the colours. Dull and colourless. That was what we saw. :( but it was a very good experience. The next day, we visited the musuem. Oh yeah we stayed at this backpacker lodge, it was really nice and comfortable (and super affordable too!)

We all went back to home after that. Just came home this morning and here I am, typing away, relishing the fun moments. Forgive the extremely short account, I think I shall gather all the pictures I can find and upload them here. A picture speaks a thousand words.

Until then, goodbye!
