Ahoy from Prague

Life

The truth takes far longer to sink in than I thought. Still cannot really believe I am in Prague, it all feels like a dream.

This place is really as beautiful as they say it is. The medieval cobblestone streets in the Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square, Prague Castle.. truly breathtaking.

These few days have been nothing short of spectacular. I do not even know where to start. Oh, and I took lots of pictures too, of course. Who could pass up the opportunity to take these priceless photos when they come only once in a lifetime?

I think I will blog more when I have the time. In short, I thank God for sending me here.

How did it come to this?

Uncategorized

God, why me?

Echoing St. Augustine, ironically.

If this is some sort of punishment, so be it.

Just had to deal with the sheer pain.

Ouch.

Love at first sight..

Musings

We never actually met before. I only saw her once or twice via online. Then I decided to go for it.

I still remember the day we first met. When she first appeared, my heart skipped a beat. The smooth, silky silhouette. I lusted for her curves. She was so sexy.. with her irresistible allure, glowing with that “come get me” LED lights…

You thought I was talking about a girl, did you not? I set you up for a major “What the heck..” moment. LMAO LOL…

I fell in love with my laptop the first time the salesman pulled her out of her packaging. Dang, she did not look that good in the pictures online. I never thought she would be such a beauty. Sleek smooth reflective surfaces, silver lining, stylish LED glows, all in a sexy black finishing.

Gosh, I love her. Yeah its a ‘her’. I can feel her powerful processor whirring and ultra eye candy performance on the crisply bright and sharp screen. I call her… Lexy.

Oh Lexy, how I love you so.

I love the way the keyboard sounds when I type. Not the usual, boring drone you typically get from a clerk’s workhorse. Or the monotonous clicks of other laptops. Nay. Oh boy. It almost sounded like a dreamy melody compared to others. And it felt so smooth and pleasurable in my fingers.

With Harman Kardon speakers, she beats out any other girls in her class. With a sexy, alluring voice that would make any tech geek’s heart race with lust.

Since she would be the object of desire for many men, I decided to keep her password-protected. Not only with a Fort Knox-strength encrypted password but also a fingerprint scan. Geeks who want to steal her heart better think twice. Hell yeah, she’s mine boys, keep your hands off her!

Lexy would be my faithful companion for life. I would never trade her for any other girls. NEVER. Oh did I mention she is a Toshiba Satellite M500? Pure performance at an eye-popping price. But no matter. It was worth it.

Did you think it was weird describing a laptop as if it is a living thing? Well for me, no it is not. Lexy agrees too, as I type this on her irresistible keyboard.

Love you forever, Lexy. XOXO

Apprehensive.

Life

It is now less than 2 weeks before we depart, and I am starting to feel a bit apprehensive about leaving. Sad? Maybe. Excited? Definitely. Nervous? Oh boy, you have no idea.
I went to KL recently with my parents to get my stuff. You would not believe the sheer amount my dad spent. Kinda felt bad about it. New laptop, camera, cellphone.. plus some necessities like luggage bags, winter clothes etc.

Only today did the sudden realization that I am leaving soon hits me.

I feel really lazy lately. Lazy to write, lazy to think, lazy to blog. Lazy to keep working on something I am supposed to be working hard on. Whenever I feel like wanting to pick up where I left off, my mind would say “Bah what does it matter, you are not going anywhere and you will never succeed.” Sadly I kind of agree with that thought.

The kind of nagging feeling really bugs me and I dislike it.

Have I mentioned I bought my first original PC game? In my years of PC gaming? Finally, piracy shows its ugly face as game developers create ever more difficult method of game protection that is harder to crack. Even if those hackers managed to crack the protection, the resulting game is cacat-ed. Which was what happened with Red Alert 3. After getting my hands on it via torrent download, I found out the cutscenes and cinematic videos (which Red Alert saga is famous for) cannot be played. There goes the exciting, albeit cheesy yet hugely amusing experience of playing RA.

So since I am bored, lazy to work on the aforementioned business, I decided to purchase an original game via online. Cost me RM139 but it arrived a day later. Talk about efficiency. The original game offers top-notch quality, as expected. So I spent the past few days blasting Allied forces and building my Soviet army.

So the moral of the story is, you get what you paid for. Money = quality + hours of fun, free = illegal + guilty conscience + crappy & crooked game. They should have taught us that in high school.

Yee haa. This is why I want to make some pocket money – to fund my desires without feeling guilty about it. To have that kind of financial freedom, knowing I can spend on things I want without feeling fear.

But let’s get back to that some other time. I am so lazy and tired right now, all I can think about is a good night’s sleep and the warm bed. zzz..
